Someone who uses their computer for e-mails, surfing the web or web processing is not going to need a powerful computer. Whereas someone who plays a lot of newer computer games will need a much more powerful system, which will in turn cost you more money.
2. You don't have to get the fastest, most expensive computer available.
That is unless you need it. For those who use their computer for use of basic programs and internet, then it is likely to be unncessary to purchase the top of the range computer. A less expensive but new computer would be an upgrade to the computer that you are currently using. If you don't need the power, then it is wasted.
3. Buy in bulk.
If you are purchasing a new computer along with a new printer, speakers and other computer neccessities, try to buy from one store and speak to the saleperson about giving you a better price. If the sales person does offer you a discount, this can also save you the hassel of having to purchase several items from different stores.
4. Watch for sales.
If you do not need a new computer urgently, wait until there are sales. In this current economic environment, many stores are having sales. Even watch for coupons and deals.
